ANIMUTANT Concept Art

The Amazon Rainforest is the world’s largest tropical rainforest, covering nearly 2.5 million square miles of northwestern Brazil, and extending into Colombia, Peru, and other South American countries. Only a small percentage of the forest has been explored by humans—it is believed that thousands of undiscovered species could be living in the Amazon’s untouched parts.

Centered around what is hidden deep within the jungle, ANIMUTANT tells a story of the creatures that live alongside us in silence. Discovering their connections to a tribe who’s home is under the threat of a large drug cartel, disconnected spirits of the Amazon jungle rekindle their importance to the religious beliefs of the natives who call the Amazon home, and rediscover their true places in the human world after their history had been swept under the rug for centuries.

ANIMUTANT is an independent passion project that has been in the works since 2018. The works below showcase the visual development of the concept’s characters and environments.
